Tanjung Kelayang Beach is located in district Kelayang Sijuk, it’s about 27 km from the capital Tanjung Pandang in Belitung Island. This beach is famous with spectacular scenery which is content of stretch of soft white sands, granite stones that stand out neatly, and a calm sea. When looking at the beach, there are islands that were located fairly close to a very exotic.

The word ‘Tanjung’ means ‘Peninsula’ and ‘Kelayang’ means ‘a kind of bird species’. Tanjung Kelayang is surrounding by small islands that framed the beautiful sunset. Many tourist stay here for enjoy the moon that shines the seawater. The visitors can spend their holiday here by diving, swimming, sun bathing, fishing, etc. Walk along Tanjung Kelayang, the visitors will see the spread of boulders in the beach. These boulders that almost 5 meters size, are in piles each other uniquely. There is big stone that stick by three small stones.

Many visitors that interest to visit the small islands around the coast of Tanjung Kelayang Beach, around the coast there are many fishing boats can be rented. With such a close distance from the coast, using boat in traveling for approximately 10 minutes and visitors can walk around the islands are uninhabited because of all the island surrounded by white sand. Do not forget to bring enough drinking water supply because there is no drinking water in these islands.

Semeru, Highest mountain in Java Island

Semeru or be known with Mahameru is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia, and also the highest mountain in Indonesia with height about 3.676 meters from sea. This mountain is located in Malang, East Java. For climbing this mountain is taking around 4 days for up and down. Semeru's eruptive history is extensive. Since 1818, at least 55 eruptions have been recorded (10 of which resulted in fatalities) consisting of both lava flows and pyroclastic flows. All historical eruptions have had a VEI of 2 or 3.

There are not only for adventure when people climb this mountain, Semeru offering many things, from the amazing scenery, an adventure when start to climb, etc. There are two beautiful lakes, in the up side is called Ranu Pane and the other one nearby called Ranu Kumbolo, Ranu is mean lake. In the evening, it is very cold to stay here. Its population is about 600, surviving their lives from vegetable agriculture. For the first time, people can’t imagine in the height like that there is beautiful lake.

Climbers forbidden to pass through the southern path because of the poisonous gas and lava path, as an active volcano, Semeru still release of toxic gases and also often experience an earthquake. In the route, we will pass pine forest, field weeds, range of edelweiss and if we luck we can see wild birds and wild cocks. Many tourist local or foreign come to climb this mountain. In the top of the mountain, called Mahameru, We can enjoy an unforgettable and fantastic panorama towards many peaks of East Java, coasts and seas, and sunrise in the east horizon. The climbers must wait an exploded crater to take a picture. Before 9 AM the climbers must leave the peak, because the explosion toward to the peak, bring poison, sand, stone, ash, and dust.

Senggigi Beach, Lombok

Senggigi beach is located in Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Indonesia; it’s around 12 km in northwest Mataram. This beach is known with natural beauty, pure and the condition is calm. Many foreign prefer for coming to this beach compare to Sanur or Kuta in Bali. Visitors can feast the eyes with broad view of the sky in south, a row of trees on the east and Agung Mountain (east part from Bali Island).

Visitors can swim, diving or snorkeling, surfing, sunbathing and playing with the sands. There are many sharp rubble and marine animal in the sand, so visitors is always use the footwear if want to play in the sands. This beach is also known with the sunset, amazing view from the sunset can hypnotic every eyes. Especially in the full moon, many residents come to the beach and buried their body in the sands up to neck for 2 until 3 hours. People believe that doing this ritual can be medical therapy.

The access to this beach is easy, visitors can use ferry from Karang Asem Port, or use plane from Bali to Selaparang airport in Mataram Lombok. From Karang Asem port there are need 30 minutes, but if use plane just 15 minutes. In Senggigi beach many Hotels and restaurant that row along the coast. Visitors also can enjoy typical food from Lombok, and in every restaurant usually perform traditional music and dance.

Karapan Sapi, Traditional Festival from Madura

If in Spain we can see Matador with bullfight, in Indonesia there is a traditional festival that called Karapan Sapi, this festival like racing but use Cow as the subject. We can see this festival in Madura, a region in northeast Java Island. Karapan Sapi is not an ordinary race, for Madura’s people this festival like a way to dignity.

In Karapan Sapi, one person must use two cows where in the shoulders mounted a chariot of the wood as a jockey to stand and to set up a pair of cows in terms of direction and speed. To initiate a race Karapan Sapi usually accompanied by “Saronen”; Gamelan music that typical of Madura Island. And the jockeys use traditional dress that call “pesa’an”; is black color clothes and on the inside there are sleeve shirt that colored red and white stripes. Besides of tradition, Karapan Sapi is also a party after harvest rice and tobacco in Madura.

The history of Karapan Sapi is beginning in 13th century, this festival been famous by Pangeran Katandur from Sapudi Island, Sumenep. In the past, Cow is using by farmer to cultivate the land to be farm, and after the farm produce or harvest, Pangeran Katandur ask his society to do Racing with cow. And from that time, people always do Karapan Sapi after harvest.
