Siung’s beach is located in Purwodadi village, one of the isolated place on Wonosari, Gunung Kidul’s regency. The distance far is 70 km from Yogyakarta, or around 2-3 hours. Usually people like to use motorcycle or car for reach this beach. Because public transportation like colt or bus is rare and taking long time.

Yogyakarta has many beaches all along the south line, and not all of the beach can reach. Many beach in Yogyakarta that unnamed. Siung’s beach has proposed a different panorama from the other beach. Siung has many coral stones on the coast, we can see the giant of coral stone on the west and east side. The name for ‘Siung’ has been take from the shape of coral, it’s like the ‘monkey’s teeth’ or ‘Siung Wanara’ in the Javanese’s history.
Beside the giant coral stone, Siung have another interest, like climbing. This place is accommodating for amateurs to exercise climbing, with climb hills on along the beach’s side. In the east from beach, there are ground camps, where people can doing camping and built their tent and also make campfire on the night. Not far from the ground camps, there are a wooden house, this house can use for another reason beside built tent. This house can hold around 10-15 people.
On the night, there are many monkey that has a long tail will be down from the coral hill and going to the beach. This kind of monkey is rare to meet now, but in this beach we can see many monkeys like this. The coral stone can hold on from the sea wave for a long time, and the natives has been believe that Siung’s beach has a magic’s side. Now not only domestic’s tourist has come to this beach, many foreign tourists also come. Siung’s beach has many potential to be the famous object like Bali.
